9:00 Rite II Service
When you come to St. Anne’s at 9:00 a.m., you’ll experience a fuller service, using the newer language of Episcopal Rite II, with full choir. Our music is a blend of traditional and contemporary. Sunday school takes place in classrooms for preschoolers to Grade 2 during the first portion of the service, and older children may enjoy the Children’s Music program at that time. All children join their parents for Communion. Afterwards, the congregation gathers for a coffee hour.
The time in between the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services is the education hour where parents may attend interesting educational programs while their older children are going to Sunday school.
Both services are family-friendly—a toddler wandering down the aisle will get smiles, not scowls. However, a nursery is provided for children under five and a Cry Room is available for parents and little ones and is accessible from both the sanctuary and the nave. The nursery is staffed continuously by two adult caregivers starting at 9:00 through the 11:15 service. One caregiver is a paid staffer who brings consistent smiles to the little ones week after week, and one is a parent volunteer.
In the summer, we combine the 9:00 and the 11:15 into just one service, Rite II, at 10:00 a.m. Children’s Chapel is offered and the nursery is staffed and available.
