History
St. Anne’s first service was held on February 23, 1969 in a storefront building at Lake Anne Village Center in Reston. Forty-two people were in attendance. Parishioners came from diverse backgrounds, united by their commitment to social action. Under the spiritual guidance of Rector Jim Papile, Senior Associate Rector Jackie Thomson and Associate Rector for Family Ministries Denise Trogdon and many before them, St. Anne’s has grown to some 1,500 active members.

Over the years, St. Anne’s has remained faithful to its roots -- to being highly involved in the greater Reston community, to welcoming all to our church family, and to being a progressive congregation of seekers who rely on scripture, tradition and reason to discern God’s will.
Facts-At-A-Glance

At St. Anne’s, we know that following the path set before us is not so much about believing a set of doctrines, but about believing in and being part of a loving community that is the heart and hands of Jesus.

We strive to be an inclusive community as we regard the diversity among people to be one of God’s greatest gifts to humanity. We happily extend an invitation to join us anytime for our worship services and our wide range of activities designed to help you in your spiritual and everyday life.
